7:50am

Today is our 5 year anniversary of being in our home.
Considering our rough past with money I am happy to say
that there was NEVER a late house payment!

Oh and happy 4 years to our pear trees.
I planted them on the 1 year anniversary of living here.
I wanted to plant some trees to watch them grow
along side of us.  I did not want ornamental trees.
Only trees that would produce something we could eat!
Why plant trees if you get no use other than shade
out of them?!

10:00am

Went over to Kroger to get some pop
and a couple frozen pizzas for lunch
and ended up spending $78!
That's how I work with buying groceries.
Even if I'm just stopping in a store
for a couple items I ALWAYS check for mark downs
because you just never know what you will find
each visit.  Well today there was a ton of meat marked down.
I got a bunch to stock the freezer up some.
Summertime means a lot of crock pot meals
so that's what these will be used for.
Hoping to get out the vacuum sealer later on
and do up all this meat into individual meals.

Here is what $78 bought...

Boneless pork loin chops 5.02 pounds
was $12.60 marked down to $7.58
Boneless pork loin chops 4.98 pounds
was $12.50 marked down to $7.51

Boneless pork loin chops 1.45 pounds
was $7.24 marked down to $4.16
Boneless pork loin chops 1.71 pounds
was $8.53 marked down to $4.90

Beef chuck round steak 1.34 pounds
was $7.49 marked down to $5.34.
Chicken breasts 3.56 pounds
was $9.99 marked down to $5.97

4 angus 80% lean 20% fat ground chuck 4 burgers.
I don't know how much it was.
Marked down to $4.19 for 1.5 pounds.
2 cheesy chicken nuggets and 1 chicken patties
$1.33 each pack.

Plus all this...

2 pound package of french fries,
2 pound 8 ounce can of red kidney beans,
12 ounce smoked sausage,
4 Kroger French bread pizzas,
18 count large eggs,
large can of 4 cheese spaghetti sauce,
6 pack beef ramen noodles,
6 pack chicken ramen noodles,
gallon of milk,
36 giant freezer pops,
2 pack of Febreze car vent clips linen scent
was $8.00 marked down to $3.00.

We'll see after bit how many meals I can plan
from all the meat I got.

2:45pm

Ok y'all, I've spent the last two hours vacuum sealing meat, ahhh.
I think what was time consuming was I had to cut
the vacuum bags and seal the one end before
inserting meat and sealing the other end.
I figured up I spent $42.92 on meat alone on this last trip to the store but it was well worth it considering how many
meals it will make...
23 meals!!!
That breaks down to only $1.83 for the meat in each meal.
Not pictured are the packages of
chicken patties and smoked sausage.

I've had supper going in the crock.
2 packets of brown gravy, 2 cups water
and a 1.6 pound package of beef stew meat
I got marked down on another grocery trip for $5.58.
A little expensive for the meat but I am
hoping to get a couple meals out of this!
Cooking up 2 pounds of carrots, a bunch of potatoes
and gravy to go with it.

5:00pm

Just got done cutting up potatoes and carrots.
I put any remains of those veggies like skins
into a bag to go out into the compost bin.

Earlier I bagged up used coffee grounds
into some pieces of tulle and tied with a string
like a tea bag and dunked and sat them
in the gutter water of the garden.

I've been saving a bunch of egg shells to put
into the veggie plant's dirt also but just
haven't gotten around to it.

Need to make sure the garden has enough water tonight
because it's supposed to get hot tomorrow and this weekend
like in the upper 80's to 90's.

I was going to wait til this evening to turn the air conditioner
on but after working out in the garden I turned
it on around 3:00pm because I was hot.
It was 80 degrees in here and 87.4 degrees outside
according to our weather thermometer.

Well while supper is cooking I think I'll work
on looking to see if I can find any yard sales
on Craigslist for tomorrow morning.
I told mom I'd take her yard saling.
