HAPPY 2013!

Got the pork tenderloin and sauerkraut in the crock warming.
Also got a pot of red potatoes cut up and boiling
to go with it.
And lastly have a skillet of sliced potatoes frying
with turkey breast for some breakfast hash.
Stiffer than a board this morning due to shoveling
last night. Still got a little more snow overnight
and the walks need a light shoveling again! AHHH!
If you don't shovel the little stuff it becomes
the back breaking big stuff over time.
Stayed up til midnight last night to
bring in the new year.
It wasn't a minute later after the stroke of midnight
that the cable, phone and internet service went out!
Happy new year from the cable company I guess.
Not sure if the sledding hills nearby are open.
I know they were closed yesterday because
too many kids wear down the snow til it gets muddy.
Soooo was thinking maybe about going
on a nature hike, lol. Never been on one in the snow!
Would need to bundle up though.
It's 30 degrees out and feels like 21 degrees.
Need to build the immune system up for this Ohio weather
by giving the kids and us vitamins, eating healthy veggies
and sometimes exposing ourselves to the elements.

Stopped by Sharon Woods.
The main trail was clear but the smaller nature trails
needed cleared again due to the snow overnight.
We walked but it wasn't much.
From there we ventured on the roads behind Hoover Dam.
I stopped in Twin Bridges with only
the 2x4 on, lol. Guess what happened
when this area hasn't been plowed and
we've had 13 + inches of snow?
That's right, blame everything on momma today, lol.
The snow at the rear of the truck was up to the bumper.
I kept spinning and spinning.
Rocking the truck back and forth.
Hubby was yelling at me to NOT go backwards any more
because we were on a hill and obviously
you can see what is behind us to slide down
the hill into, lol.
Me and hubby switched places so he could
try and get the truck out. He kicked 'er into 4 wheel drive,
spun the tires like heck flinging mud and snow everywhere!
We neither one brought our cell phones so
this could of been a bad situation being out in BFE.
We needed a little excitement for today, lol.
The kids babbled on and on in the backseat
all the way home about mom getting the truck stuck, lol.
Hey, whatever works to keep them from
fighting in the backseat, right?!
Alrighty then time for some grub here soon
to warm the cockles after out adventure.
Should've had some pork and sauerkraut
BEFORE leaving to have some good luck, lol.

So worth the wait.
When there's no talking at the dinner table
ya know it's good!
-pork tenderloin
-sauerkraut with seasoned juices
-pork gravy
-red potatoes
-biscuits & butter
-pumpkin cheesecake
