7:35am

It's 66 degrees outside and is supposed
to get up to 80 degrees with possible thunderstorms.

Got supper in the crock already.
I threw in some deer tenderloins, potatoes,
and some leftover veggie tray vegetables I had
frozen in the freezer with water,
a packet of onion soup mix and some
garlic & herb Mrs. Dash seasoning.

I'm getting ready to plant a couple of
bare root Heritage Raspberry canes.
I put them in a vase with water for now to soak the roots.

While I didn't plan to have a garden this year
I have been considering a container garden
in 5 gallon buckets.
This won't tear up the yard, I can move
the buckets around if need be and it won't be permanent.
I've been studying something called an
Alaska Garden Bucket which is self watering container garden.
HERE is a free downloadable PDF of DIY instruction
for making one.
Maybe I could attach a rain barrel to
one of these garden bucket systems.

3:40pm

It's 82.5 degrees outside.
The Forsythias have started blooming.

No severe weather yet or rain that I have seen.
There was a moment while laying down
taking my nap that a very loud crack of thunder/lightening
brought me up outta bed.
Lots of severe thunderstorms popping up.

Hubby's going to be late tonight.
He has a side job of doing brakes on
a coworker's girlfriend's car after work at work.
Let's hope any rain holds off til he gets done.

4:35pm

I guess work sent hubby home early today from
too much overtime.  So instead of coming
home he got the brakes put on the car already
and will be home at normal time.
That's good because supper is ready.
Me and the kids already ate.

I only used half of the deer roast I put in the crock.
The other half I'll use towards another meal.
I've been saving all packages that have zip closures
such as cereal bags, splenda bags and cheese bags.
Here I used a cheese bag to put the leftover roast in.
They're pretty nice to use since they are
thicker than your average zip bags and I
can put them in the freezer.

Well hubby is home (4:42pm).
Time for him to eat then I need to run to Kroger.

A storm blew through and we were outside
watching it come in.  BRRR it sure
got cold and windy when it got here.

We had just got home from Kroger before it got here.
As we were leaving Kroger a bunch of firetrucks
went racing past us.  I think I counted a total of
three hook and ladders.  Saw smoke coming from the
neighborhood behind Kroger.  Drove past to check it
out and I think it was some apartments back there.
I'm sure it's on the news as I saw chopper 10
hovering overhead after we got back home.
Here is a brief article about it on channel 10.
