5:25am

Columbus City Schools- CLOSED.

6:50am

Hubby left for work at 6:39am.
Almost all the schools are closed in central Ohio.
Cars and roads are coated with ice.
We use Prestone de-icer on the windshields and doors.
It works pretty good.

So much for my day off to spend with mom
going out to breakfast and shopping this morning.
I called her and asked for an ice (rain) check.

8:25am

Got supper going in the crock pot.
We're having my version of Swedish meatballs
over egg noodles.

In a bowl combine-
1 pound deer burger
1 egg
1 cup white bread crumbs (about 2 slices put into food processor)
1 packet beefy onion soup mix

Roll tablespoon sized meatballs up.
It made about 28 meatballs.

In crock whisk together
1 can beef consume
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 packet of sausage flavored country gravy

Add meatballs to sauce.
I am cooking it on low since it will
be in the crock pot most of the day.

Serve over egg noodles.
The kids don't care for mushrooms.
I plan to warm a can of drained mushrooms
in a skillet and add to the sauce for the
adult plates only.
Serve with bread and butter.

11:35am

Well I was originally going to make these
for an after school snack but now I'm
making them as a lunch for the kids-
Ritz style crackers with cheese slices and pepperoni.
About like a lunchable only these are baked.

How To De-Ice Your Car news video.

Check, check and check!
De-icer spray- used that.
De-icer for lock- have but did not use.
Below freezing windshield washer fluid
with ice remover- already in vehicles.

I didn't know about using towels
shut in the doors to help open them
up during times of ice.
Knowing my luck they would freeze to the car.

I would also suggest using vasoline, baby oil,
cooking spray, WD-40 or silicon spray, something that won't freeze
around the rubber door seals.
This is especially good to do during the Winter
months when you take your vehicle to a car wash.
You don't want those seals freezing your
car door shut after getting wet.
