8:05am

I hate this cold weather.  My body is hurting all over!

Working on after school snacks.
I've got cookie bars made with a cake mix in the oven.

Mix together 1 yellow cake mix,
1 small box vanilla instant pudding.
1/4 cup water, 3/4 cup veggie oil & 2 eggs.
Stir in 1-2 cups chocolate chips.
Spoon into a greased casserole dish.
Bake 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.

I have some leftover chocolate frosting
from my Boston cream cheesecake cakes.
Put dollops of frosting on top of cookie bars
and place back in turned off oven for about 5 minutes.
Remove from oven and spread frosting
with the back of a spoon all over the top.

2:00pm

Prepping for supper and the freezer.
I found a package of marked down pork chops.
I was able to get 3 meals out of this pack
that cost $5.43.  That breaks down to only
$1.74 per meal for the meat or .43 cents per pork chop.
I plan a lot of meals around whatever
marked down meat and food I can find.

Today's supper will be-
Pork chops $1.74 (marked down)
breaded with shake n bake $1.00,
macaroni & cheese .50 cents
and corn .40 cents (marked down).
For a total of $3.64 for a meal for 4.

4:15pm

Got supper in the oven.
Tonight I need to run to Kroger to get
some bread and milk that I'm out of.
Then stop by the carry out to see if
everything is kosher with our work we did.
Maybe I'll snap a picture.
I didn't get a before one only of the couple of
drywall patches we did.
There was holes in the drywall.
Plus we did another large drywall repair on another
wall above the sink.
You can see the dark green wall coloring also
which made it dark and dreary.
We painting it with a color that I will call
pumpkin spice.  I don't know what
the actual color is called.
We have a bucket of leftover paint in this color
that hubby wants to paint our bedroom
and ? with later on.

Then will stop by an empty apartment
at hubby's work to check out a few
things left behind.
Whelp I'm gonna take me a couple ibuprofen
because my body hurts to heck and back.

8:30pm

Here's our finished bathroom we did.
The doorway frame looks yucky because there has been
no trim on it and we've told the carryout owners
we'd put some up but they didn't want it done right now.
There's a reflection of the flash from the mirror on the wall.

From the vacant apartment
I got some pots, pans, lids, dishes, silverware,
storage containers, etc.
I'll post pics of them tomorrow.
I'm tired, froze and hurting.
I'm ready for some warmer weather that's for sure.
The temps right now are 9 degrees with a -4 wind chill.

2:35pm

No school today for MLK day.
I've been chilling and finishing up laundry
and going through a few other things around here.
Tonight I guess we're heading back over
to the carry out we've been working at
to paint.

9:00pm

Spent a couple of hours finishing up our side job.
We had more drywall repair to do then painted
the whole bathroom.
Once home then we took my truck out to get
some gas considering the snow we'll be getting
and the very cold temps.
Finally home for the night.
Got the last load of laundry in the dryer
hung up, everyone's clothes laid out for tomorrow
and now are chilling til bedtime.
My back or should I say my hip
is starting to bother me.
Nothing new.
Just have to walk with a limp til it gets better.

5:50pm

Working on supper at the moment.
Having a breakfast casserole.
I cut up about 9 pieces of bread into cubes
and placed them into the bottom of a
greased casserole dish.
Then in a bowl whisk together 6 eggs,
season salt, onion powder, salt & pepper,
1 packet sausage gravy mix,
and 2 1/3rd cups milk.
Pour over top of bread cubes.
Fry up a pound of cut up bacon in a skillet.
Drain and sprinkle on top of bread & egg mix.
Sprinkle cheese on top.
Bake 350 degrees for about 25 - 30 minutes.

Around 11:00am this morning me and hubby went
and did our final mudding and sanding
at the carryout.  We had to replace drywall,
an entire electrical outlet, mud & sand the walls.
Maybe this coming weekend we'll
get the bathroom totally painted.

After our side job we went and did our grocery shopping
for the week.  I think we spent about $55.
Here are the meals I have planned for this week...

1.  Breakfast casserole.
2.  Teriyaki chicken with stir fry veggies & oriental noodles.
3.  Smoked sausage pizzas homemade.
4.  Tuna and noodle casserole.
5.  Shake n Bake pork chops with mashed potatoes, corn
6.  Pork chops with stuffing and corn.
7.  Cheddar brats with mac & cheese.
8.  Ham and baked beans soup with corn bread.

Breakfasts

-Cereal
-Blueberry pancakes

2:00pm

Got the scrap metal cashed in this morning.
Made $92 from that.
Then went over to the carry out to do 3 drywall repairs
and replaced an outlet.  Got the drywall replaced and
mudded.  Now have to wait for it to dry then will
go back and sand and mud one more time.
Then will paint the whole bathroom once that
is completed.  Might take a couple days to do
then get paid.  When we left we got something to
drink and a couple bags of chips to bring home
for the boys.  They said we didn't have to pay for it
because of working for them :0)
Didn't expect that.  That was nice of them.

Once back home I made some lunch of brats
and hot dogs then had to run to Big Lots afterwards.
This is where we go to get a very large pack
of AA batteries for $3.00.
The kids go through lots of AA batteries
in their wireless remotes for their games systems.
I checked their marked down items while
in the store.  I got 12 bottles of Gatorade for
only .10 cents each and I finally found
some white LED lights with a white cord
for our white Christmas tree
that was regularly $18 marked down to $4.50,
75% off.  It says on the package it saves
up to 90% on energy costs.
I've been trying to replace all our lights
with LED ones.  Been looking for 5 bush net lights
and 3 strands of icicle lights for the front of the house.
I only found one box of each at Big Lots which sucked
so didn't get any of those.

We have another couple go rounds of extreme
cold temperatures.  One they said will be Monday
and another sometime the beginning of February.
Uh, did they forget to mention the temps
feel pretty extreme today?!
Our gas billed jumped up almost $30.
It was $67 and is now $95.
I guess that's not too bad considering
the horror stories I hear
about the costs of other people's
gas bills.

8:35am

So I'm sitting here researching this new prescription
I have yet to go get.
It's for Omeprazole, an acid reducer, a proton pump inhibitor.
Well I found through the FDA site that
you have an increased risk of getting
C. Diff when using this product.
DO WHAT?
That's what I just went to the hospital for a month ago!
I wasn't even researching C. Diff and Omeprazole,
I was researching how many mg's Crohn's patients
were taking and if it helped them.
I have also read that when you have C. Diff
you are twice as likely to get it again
in the near future.
OK, so why the hell do they want to put me
on a medication that gives me a more
increased risk of getting C. Diff again???!!!
Nurse practitioner I saw yesterday
failed to mention this to me
and she knew I was in the hospital recently for C. Diff!
And people wonder why I don't like doctors!
I just feel like they are setting me up to be deliberately sick.
First misdiagnosed in hospital,
then they didn't call in my medicine to be refilled
that I ran out of and it could be two weeks
that I'll be without it before getting more,
and then putting me on a medicine
that could make me really sick again.
Ok, I need a nap.

7:40pm

Been feeling eh ok today.
Still very tired and have severe stomach gurgling
and noises going on.
The body aches haven't been so bad, tolerable.

It's soo bitter cold outside again, brrr.
It's 17 and feels like 3 degrees with wind chill.
Went out today and got some paperwork mailed
to the hospital in hopes of getting some
financial assistance with my hospital bills.
Still haven't gotten any paycheck stubs so they'll
have to deal with what I have to give them.

Tomorrow morning we're heading to the scrap metal place
to hopefully make a few bucks.
Then after that we have a side job to do.
Every now and then we get a side job at
a convenience store near hubby's work
doing maintenance on things like plumbing,
toilet, drywall repair, electrical, etc.

1-16-14

1:40pm

Went to my GI appointment this morning.
Come to find out my doctor's nurse I had talked
to last Wednesday about getting my prescription
refilled and about getting some paperwork sent to me
had quit last Friday.
Now I know why nothing got accomplished with them.
My prescription order and paperwork was in my file
it just never got sent out.
I was assured today that it would be sent
to my mail order pharmacy.
Ya know that would be nice considering
I've been without my medicine for 8 or more days now.
It has been taking a toll on me and I can
feel when my body doesn't have it.
Body aches, stomach is raw and gurgles loudly constantly,
loose bowels and I am extremely tired.
I didn't get to lay back down today because
of errands and my appointment.
It's everything I'm doing to try not to fall asleep
before going to get the boys from the bus stop!
This nurse practitioner I saw today
prescribed me a proton pump inhibitor.
I finally mentioned something about having
it and trouble swallowing at times to the point
food gets stuck and I have to throw up.
This new medicine is on a trial run to see
if it helps clear up the acid reflux.
If I still have problems with it or eating
then she wants me to have an endoscopy done,
a tube camera down my throat.
Always something to worry about!
But I've been dealing with that problem a lot
longer than the Crohn's I just haven't mentioned
it to doctors.  Now I worry that it could be
all linked to Crohn's because Crohn's can be
anywhere in your digestive tract from your
mouth to your rear end.

6:00am

Today will probably be a boring day for you to read about.
I'm pretty much taking notes about how I am feeling.

5:30am comes too early!
I didn't sleep well last night.
I went to bed around 8:30 then got back up
around 10:30.  Fell back asleep around midnight.
1:00am I woke up coughing and gagging
from acid reflux.  Ran to the bathroom and got sick.
Then around 3:00am woke up to loud noise.
Cats knocked something over.
Oh yeah, nap time will come early today.

12:45pm

I slept from 7:30am to noon.
That wasn't a nap that was more like
catching up on the sleep I missed last night.
I still feel tired.

Tomorrow I have my GI doctor's appointment
for a follow up.
Don't know what good that's going to do when
I can't even see my own doctor who knows
what has been going on with me lately.
I have to see a nurse practitioner which
will be clueless.
I hope I don't have to go in there and
recap everything that's been going on.
Still no prescription refill from my doctor
or paperwork that was supposed to be sent since last
Wednesday.  I've been without my medicine
for over a week now.  I feel like doc is holding it
for ransom til I go to his office to be seen.
Then even when it does get sent in to our
prescription mail order company it
could take up to a week to get it.

Not to sound gross but to keep track of any progress
or downhill spirals,
my medicine when I was taking it kept my poo
somewhat normal for me.
Today, not so good.  You start to worry when you get diarrhea
because in my past it can result in dehydration, low potassium,
& low blood pressure resulting in a trip to the ER.
Getting a lot of stomach acid
resulting in acid reflux.  I have body aches all over,
lots of weird gurgling stomach noises I've never had before
along with my stomach not feeling so good
and I feel really really tired.
