6:05am

We don't have much money and are streeeetching
what we do have to pay our regular monthly bills.
My birthday is coming up next week and mom is taking
us out to eat.  Other than that we don't have money
to do anything else.  I know hubby will want to get
me a birthday gift and we just can't afford it.
It doesn't bother me if I don't get gifts but I know it will
bother him.  The other day I got a Kohl's coupon card
for $10 off something $10 or more.
I get these several times a year in the mail.
I had already taken mom about a month ago
to Kohl's to pick out a necklace earring combo
for Christmas.  It didn't cost me anything with the coupon.
Now I'm going to have hubby take me to Kohl's
so I can pick out a piece of jewelry so
he can give it to me for my birthday.

8:05am

I am working on a notebook with recipes
that are pretty cheap to make for Christmas treats/gifts.
When you don't have much money you bake gifts!
I was thinking about starting some of these
recipes in the near future and freezing them so
I don't get overwhelmed with baking a ton at once.
Then I also want to work on a couple of
recipes for baking contests.
Now where am I going to get the energy from
to do all this?!

12:05pm

Me and hubby went to Kohl's and I picked out a
small lizard ring.  I think it was $18 marked down
to $12.50 minus $10 coupon made it $2.50.

From there we went to Kroger and I had some coupons
with me and saved $17 and some change and spent
around $38 for groceries.  Hubby wanted beef stew
and found a package of
beef stew meat marked down but I found another
larger family package of thick beef steaks for about
a dollar more but double the weight.
It's much cheaper to buy meat that you cut yourself!
I'm hoping to get about three meals from the
beef stew I'll be making this weekend.

Currently I am working on getting more monthly
bills out in the mail.  I'm used to getting those
out on the first of the month and it's now the 8th.
I know there are grace periods with some
but I don't like to push my luck too far.
I had car insurance, electric, credit card
and still have to renew hubby's tags on his car.
I'm skipping the gas bill this month.
It's only $27.
I already made the house payment
along with cable/internet and phone earlier this week.

I had our health insurance call me because
I'm supposed to go to my GI doctor for a follow
up visit from the hospital and doc was saying
something about wanting to put me on Remicade
(maybe Humira) and I wanted to know what
costs we were looking at.
I know those prescription can cost up to $10,000
without insurance.
With our insurance Humira would cost us $100
for a 30 day supply with authorization from
the insurance company each month.
Now if I went with Remicade it would cost
$100 for the meds for the monthly infusion but then
there's the cost for the outpatient hospital visit
which those costs would first have to meet
our $700 deductible then they would pay
20% of the hospital costs.
So all in all even with the insurance discounts
it doesn't look good to even be able to afford
any of those medicines.
I'm already paying $100 a month for my one prescription
and can't exactly do another $100 a month
for another prescription.
A total cost of $2400 a year for my two medicines!
Doc's just gonna have to figure out something else.
We're already trying to figure what else
we can cut back on due to high rising costs
of health insurance.
CRAZY!!!
